After years of service, heavy slew bearings on draglines, stacker/reclaimers and ship loaders will inevitably reach the end of their usable life. Replacing such bearings can be a timely and complex exercise, especially when years of heavy loading and service can leave a machine frame/tub twisted, bent, and buckled.
The key to an extended bearing life starts with a solid bearing foundation. In order to achieve this, the bearing needs a solid, uniform surface to mount to. Large scale machining is one option, however this comes with high cost and extended downtime on the machine as it is a timely process.
Consolidated Plastics has developed and optimised a procedure to inject heavy duty epoxy backing grout between the bearing face and working surfaces of the machine with use of specialised tools and equipment. With a solid foundation, we can give your machine the best possible start to its working life.
Operating around conveyor systems presents a real risk to our clients and for a long time, steel guards have been used to keep people out of harm’s way. Traditionally, steel guards have been used to reduce these risks however they are often heavy, difficult to remove and susceptible to corrosion. For more than 15 years, Consolidated has been providing Diacon HDPE conveyor guarding packages to raise the standard for safety and productivity. Coupled with a no-nonsense mounting arrangement, our guards are a durable, lightweight and corrosion free solution to a problem which has been tolerated for too long.
